Summer Loving...Having a Blast

Although I mostly forget to bring my camera to our activities, we have been having a great summer.
Just to summarize for you....We've done many trips to the zoo to see the Giraffes, Ice Cream treats for any occasion, Playing at the splash park, walks by the river, coffee, Hanging with friends at any park, bowling, swimming, Stampede breakfasts, Julie's famous Birthday parties, girls dinners that include wine, the boys golf weekend, having drinks with the neighbours, spur of the moment dinner parties...ahh yes we've done it all.

Looking for more green ideas?

I hate using the plastic produce bags, so I bought blink Tidy Totes from Superstore to use . I love them because they are big mesh bags, they come with a draw string and are super easy to use. They were about $4.50 for 4...which if anyone has looked into purchasing produce bags from "Green" websites they cost about $4 for one. I bought them in the car stuff isle.

About Time

Rhett is growing up and smiling all the time. He gets a bit scared with Jonas sometimes...but I can't blame him. I want to cry when Jonas screams and shouts too!! I love being a mom to these wonderful children, and am so blessed in life.

Jonas went fishing with Ron & Jerilee a few weekends ago. he had a great time we were told, and even caught a fish. Unfortunately he was unable to bring the fish to shore. He even got a fishing pole and a couple of dinosaurs out of the deal!! He broke the pole yesterday (the line broke), so I told him he'd have to wait till I could get Ron back to fix it. He woke up this morning and said "Wait Ron Fix, yeah".

Hop Hop & Birthday Wishes

Well just like the rest of the world the Eater Bunny, aka Hop Hop, invaded our somewhat healthy life style...Chocolate is in huge abundance at our house, so if anyone did not receive enough, or even any, I will willingly send you some of Jonas'.

April is a month of many Birthdays (Libby I am SO SORRY I forgot yours on April 3rd), and one of them being my wonderful Husband. He turned 33 on the 13th, and we had a great time celebrating it on Sunday with his Family. On Monday I made a great dinner, then he quietly retreated to the basement to study...oh the fun times!!

We are also heading out to California tomorrow!! Can't wait for a good holiday, with sun, surf and shopping!!

5 Weeks Old

Right from the time Rhett was born, I was always amazed at his head neck strength. This is usually how I find him when I give him tummy time.

The entire family has been enjoying Rhett's presence, and I know I'm savouring each and every moment more this time around. I'm doing so, because I know this experience will never happen again (OK unless there's an "oops" down the road).

Last night Jonas wanted a family hug, and for the first time, I thought we are a complete family now.

Jonas has been the best big brother. He absolutely adores Rhett, and if he's not in the room, Jonas wants to know where he is, and what he's doing. Any time Jonas is upset, all I have to say is "do you want to hold Rhett", and he cheers right up. I know these two kids will be the best of friends.

Hanging Out

We've finally gotten our basement to a point where we can all enjoy the benefits. The computer, my photo stuff, Jeff's work, and Jonas' toys are all down here! It really makes a difference when it comes to my work. I can keep an eye on Jonas while I fart around on the computer or take random pictures of him when I'm testing things out. Here are a few photos from this morning.

This is usually how I find his play area...all the toys from every basket, dumped on the floor.

5 Minute Chocolate Cake

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 teaspoons flour
4 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons cocoa
1 egg
3 teaspoons milk
3 teaspoons oil
3 teaspoons chocolate chips
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee Mug or small bowl

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

So my sister just emailed me this recipe...so I decided to try it. It was great!! I used the white bowl behind the cake for my experiment, and it turned out wonderful.

Lunch With The Morihira's

On Saturday we had Geoff, Rebecca & Sydney over for lunch...well Rebecca was nice enough to bring the lunch, so we didn't have to do anything!! Thanks again Rebecca!

We see Sydney and Rebecca about once a week at least, but we hardly ever see Geoff. So it was nice to catch up with him.
